MATT’s team transformed this 1915 downtown Los Angeles building from a car dealership into a high-end, mixed-use facility while retaining its vintage charm. Structural enhancements included seismic strengthening, elevator installation, new MEPF and HVAC and a careful façade restoration. The street level storefront houses an upscale restaurant, while office spaces occupy the higher floors. The team met an accelerated timetable for move-in ahead of the 2000 Democratic National Convention. Owned by L.A. Arena, a joint venture between Majestic Real Estate and the Anschutz Entertainment Group, the 1100 S. Flower project was among the first in a downtown LA revitalization initiative.
