In the heart of Hollywood near the historic Grauman’s Chinese Theater and the legendary Walk of Fame, MATT Construction renovated, expanded and converted a landmark hotel for Trizec Hahn. The project included the addition of a new, 22-story concrete tower to an existing 22-story structure, built so that the two structures can act as one during a seismic event. The owner expanded the contract to include tenant improvements with an emphasis on luxury in a sophisticated retro style. The result of this transformation was the Marriott Renaissance Hotel, a building restored to its mid-century modernist origins.

The enlarged hotel now houses 632 elegantly appointed rooms, including 81 oversized executive bedrooms and 33 luxury suites. Atop the roof, the Hollywoodland Suite’s magnificent terrace provides sweeping views of the Hollywood Sign and downtown LA’s sparkling skyline. The luxurious Panorama Suite features high, vaulted ceilings and 270-degree views through floor-to-ceiling windows. The outer walls of the nearly 3,600 sf suite follow a glamorous circular contour evocative of classic Hollywood. The hotel also features a restaurant, a fitness center, a spa and pool facilities.
