In this design-build project, MATT Construction partnered with architecture firm Rios Clementi Hale Studios to build a new childcare center for Caltech. The 12,000 sf facility serves 125 children from infancy to age five and meets or exceeds California licensing standards and the City of Pasadena’s Zoning Code for child day-care centers. The facility is accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs. The project, which entailed the use of BIM developed to LOD 500, achieved LEED Gold certification. The project involved significant community outreach to campus neighbors to address local concerns. The site is approximately 54,200 sf, and the new, two-story building is residential in scale.
