(W)rapper Mat Pour

This video shows the Herculean effort over the course of one special night at the (W)rapper jobsite. MATT’s team undertook a 12-hour, continuous concrete pour to lay the foundation for the daring building, which will ultimately stand without a central column and rely instead on a steel frame exoskeleton. The pour effort involved over 800 tons of reinforcing steel and the help of 560 trucks and 134 crew members. Once the 5,591 cubic yards of concrete had been poured, the foundation rested for a full month beneath insulating blankets to ensure thermal regularity for long-term integrity.
