Christopher Waight is a licensed, LEED-accredited Architect who brings over 25 years of experience at award-winning architectural firms to MATT Construction. His background spans multiple market sectors — including higher education, K-12, cultural institutions, commercial, healthcare, and civic — where he has served as Project Manager, Senior Project Architect, and Higher Education Practice Leader.
As a fourth-generation Californian and a Southern California Institute of Architecture graduate, Chris has long admired MATT Construction’s commitment to building quality and its ability to collaborate with world-renowned design teams. As Vice President of Business Development, Chris is focused on generating and cultivating new project opportunities across MATT’s core markets, building long-term relationships with clients, architects, and cultural institutions throughout Southern California and beyond.
Chris brings a builder’s understanding of the design process to every client conversation. His architectural background allows him to engage meaningfully with design teams from the earliest stages of a project — helping clients navigate critical early decisions that shape the efficiency, cost, and success of their programs before a shovel hits the ground.
